Things I Have Learnt In University So Far:
- It is a lot of fun. Possibly moreso than cegep, and that was fun times. High school seems so far away and terrible, terrible, terrible. At McGill there are also comfy squishy blue couches to fall asleep on every day.
- Wicked is beyond superfabulous, and so are Megan Hilty (SQUEE) and Sho Bean in Toronto. When you get a chance to see Megan Hilty on stage, do not miss out on the chance to stalk her. Which, sadly, is what I did, seeing as Raimi, Jess and Sasha were waiting in a pub, not to mention Chris and his twin having seen the show as well. I'm not sure they would've appreciated waiting outside the SD for half an hour. *g*
- Having sex does not clarify your sexual orientation. Whatsoever.
- Also, solo sex = FOR THE WIN, for there is less drama. And it's always good.
- ...but on the other hand, the "web" and tween pseudo L-Wordish drama with students, TAs and teachers and oh my! is quite hilarious. I've never been one for gossip before, and quite like watching Laguna Beach, or..okay, fine, ANTM, you just can't look away. And you adore it.
- I miss being spastically excited for a new ep of teevee. I enjoy Heroes, despite its fluffy apocalypse and generally being a dumbed down version of The 4400 s1. Also, who can take "Save the cheerleader! Save the world!" seriously? BSG is wonderful, but always less exciting when it finishes its mini-arcs. I wish they'd have stayed on new caprica longer...
- I might have done better if I had opened some textbooks. HEH. Btw, punzerel, must give you back your Hist IR ones! Also, facebook has ruined any academic aspirations I had when entering university, and I shall finish a plumber. Possibly a crackless one.
- Borat was a glorious hour and a half of political incorectness. I do think stuffing Pamela in the faux-blanket was simply magnificient. HAHA.
- NICOLE KIDMAN is cast as Mrs Coulter in the HDM movie!
they lauched the website! December 2007! Meep, a whole year is quite a long time...
I knew Pullman had envisionned Nicole as his IMO, most intriguing character, but I didn't believe she'd actually sign on to do the project. Woo! As for my second favorite, Daniel Craig as Asriel is..PERFECT. I was worried because I couldn't even cast him well in my head.
I am, however, outraged by the fact that Mrs Coulter has SHORT, BLONDE HAIR. WHY. Argh. There is so much emphasis on her shiny, entrancing, long dark locks in the bookverse that...heh.
If I can't stomach that, I don't know how I will deal that the studio is omitting to call the Church *the Chuch* and merely referring to it as the Magisterium. Heh. Not to mention it will not make sense by the second book, since Pullman is re-writing Milton's Paradise Lost. I WROTE MY IB MEMOIR ON THIS! Kthnxbye. - I actually have a long, typed reaction and commentary on Wicked (book, I'm not fannishly interested in the musicalverse; I just obsess over the actresses and the music) post reading it, and SoaW this summer. I'll get around to posting it soon.
- Lectures start the 3rd. January 3rd. GOODNESS THAT IS TERRIBLE.
- I have attempted to fix the dates on my LJ, because for some reason it wouldn't let me post in the future and perpetuate what made my LJ so dysfunctional. ;) So...this entry is the first in a long time to be dated correctly, and the rest is nuts.
