My interest in Lindsay Lohan has gone up 200%. I WONDER WHY, haha. Not only has one of the most heteronormative tween starlets become a huge gay, complete with andro-hipster girlfriend, she's also become a righteous baby queer ranting against palin's homophobia. Love it.
Oh, and Madonna. Railing against the "I abused power in office" pitbull. Then she yelled "Guess who's not invited to my party? SARAH FUCKING PALIN. Get that bitch outta here!" Win, win.

One more year of teenagehood left is a scary thought. WHATEVS, I'm not worrying about that until next year at this time.
But I've had quite the fun time this semester; from strip poker night at Jess and Sophia's which resulted in ten girls (and a few boys) running across St-Louis Square in lingerie and boots to our rather un-directed French play to nights with friends-who-will-not-be-named dressed in scotch tape. I even have a stable fuck buddy! There is so much less pressure with JRO and she sleeps with other people too, so unlike before it is all good. ( yup )
However, this hasn't been the best birthday week, because my mom has been diagnosed with stage III breast cancer.
And it fucking scares me. This isn't helped by her characteristic tendency to play/be the martyr and say things like "I'm going to die" "maybe it spread in my bones" ETC. I'm also mad. Mad that she was 56 when her mom had cancer and I'm just fucking 19 - how can she play the "I'm already too tired to fight card?" WTF. Oh, it's nice to vent here because god knows this is uber taboo in the oppressive environment that is now home.
I also don't want to see her huge crazy curly fro go, her curves, and her vivacity - her name is "Viva" afterall. Ma. "invasive" and "stage III" freak me the FUCK out. Friends have been great, and thank god for them - Jess Ro read me a Roald Dalh story on the phone with her usual crazy inflection. On the shitter side of things, I'm getting behind on readings, POLI 227 has a great prof but boring, boring material. But Katrin Bozeva is still the BEST EVER, I madly love her. Wouldn't get up at 8 am on a Friday if it wasn't for a conference with her. Finally, we've made many jokes about the "smaller, perkier boobs - like you've never been pregnant (tm)" that my mom will possibly get after surgery/chimo/ect. She's always complaining about her D set.
*SQUEEZES* I miss you all terribly.

Things I Have Learnt In University So Far:
- It is a lot of fun. Possibly moreso than cegep, and that was fun times. High school seems so far away and terrible, terrible, terrible. At McGill there are also comfy squishy blue couches to fall asleep on every day.
- Wicked is beyond superfabulous, and so are Megan Hilty (SQUEE) and Sho Bean in Toronto. When you get a chance to see Megan Hilty on stage, do not miss out on the chance to stalk her. Which, sadly, is what I did, seeing as Raimi, Jess and Sasha were waiting in a pub, not to mention Chris and his twin having seen the show as well. I'm not sure they would've appreciated waiting outside the SD for half an hour. *g*
- Having sex does not clarify your sexual orientation. Whatsoever.
- Also, solo sex = FOR THE WIN, for there is less drama. And it's always good.
- ...but on the other hand, the "web" and tween pseudo L-Wordish drama with students, TAs and teachers and oh my! is quite hilarious. I've never been one for gossip before, and quite like watching Laguna Beach, or..okay, fine, ANTM, you just can't look away. And you adore it.
- I miss being spastically excited for a new ep of teevee. I enjoy Heroes, despite its fluffy apocalypse and generally being a dumbed down version of The 4400 s1. Also, who can take "Save the cheerleader! Save the world!" seriously? BSG is wonderful, but always less exciting when it finishes its mini-arcs. I wish they'd have stayed on new caprica longer...
- I might have done better if I had opened some textbooks. HEH. Btw, punzerel, must give you back your Hist IR ones! Also, facebook has ruined any academic aspirations I had when entering university, and I shall finish a plumber. Possibly a crackless one.
- Borat was a glorious hour and a half of political incorectness. I do think stuffing Pamela in the faux-blanket was simply magnificient. HAHA.
- NICOLE KIDMAN is cast as Mrs Coulter in the HDM movie! ( I AM EXCITED. More about it, my attachement to the dark, curly and long hair Mrs Coulter is SUPPOSED to have, and Church/Magisterium )
- I actually have a long, typed reaction and commentary on Wicked (book, I'm not fannishly interested in the musicalverse; I just obsess over the actresses and the music) post reading it, and SoaW this summer. I'll get around to posting it soon.
- Lectures start the 3rd. January 3rd. GOODNESS THAT IS TERRIBLE.
- I have attempted to fix the dates on my LJ, because for some reason it wouldn't let me post in the future and perpetuate what made my LJ so dysfunctional. ;) So...this entry is the first in a long time to be dated correctly, and the rest is nuts.

Thinking of the victims of the Dawson shooting three days ago.
It's just...something that doesn't happen *here*, you know? Maya got out okay, however she's the ultra nervous type and she's freaked out by all of this. Dom's friend Alex witnessed Anastasia get killed, which is extremely horrifying. Steph was outside the jew caf smoking and she's never been happier about that, heh. My cousin Sarah only had class in the afternoon so she obviously didn't show up, although her friend Dave was shot - in the arm, he's okay now. I'm so thankful nothing happened to people I know.

- Work is fun when it involves throwing baby m&ms into Adam, Tim or Diane's mouths. Not to mention inventing chocolate waffle cones. AND all the free Ben & Jerry ice cream and smoothies I DEVOUR. Metabolism baby, don't quit me now!
